Brother Sonny :Pastor
Pastor Sonny Mull was born November 16th 1942. He grew up in Valdese, N.C. where his mother, Bonnie raised him in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 63 years. Sonny joined the church and was baptized as a youth, but was actually born again at the age of 20 at St. John Baptist Church. He was immediately called to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He graduated in 1967 from Mars Hill Baptist College in Asheville N.C. with a bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Religion and a minor in Greek.
Bro. Sonny became Pastor of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on March 22, 1972. Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, the church has grown from a two room house with 2 outhouses & no indoor plumbing, to what it is today, but the KJV 1611 bible that he preaches is still the same. In 1980 he had the privilege of baptizing his 62 year old father, Fuzzy Mull, Praise God!

Barry Davis
Youth Director/Deacon
Barry was born in Louisville, KY in 1970 & began attending Bethel in 1975 with his parents. While growing up at Bethel, he attended sunday school & other childrens programs, as well as attending Bethel Christian School where he graduated in 1988.
Barry accepted Christ as his Savior in October 1981, but like many young people he struggled between serving God and dealing with the typical teenage temptations. Barry married his wife Tracy in 1990, and like many, they centered their lives around making a living. However, this changed when they began having a family, as Barry remembered the importance of being raised in church and making Christ the center of ones life. Wanting to give his two children the same opportunities he had growing up, they began attending church as a family on a regular basis. Barry rededicated his life to God, and saw both of his children accept Jesus as their savior and become active in Bethel. As he became involved in the church God opened the doors in 2005 for Barry to become the Youth Director at Bethel.
Since then Barry & Tracy have taught Bethel’s Youth-4-Truth teen group every Wednesday night. In addition, they continue to do numerous activities to help bring the teens closer to God, while also teaching them to spread His word. Barry has stated that God gave him a burden for teenagers, so that he could try to keep them from making some of the same mistakes that he made. Barry has also been a deacon since 2010, serving the church in any capacity that God allows. He is also involved in our VBS program & is instrumental in Bethel’s music ministry both singing and playing the drums.
